2015 Community Initiative Project Details
This How Charming Photography and Design Community Initiative ran during November 2015. My hope is that this Community Outreach initiative brings positive awareness to the six law city enforcement offices sharing smiles to those youth in the communities they serve.
Local City Police Department Involvement
Project Part 1: Three Hundred handmade stuffed animals (donated by the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility) were equally split by those participating city police departments. Donations were made to Greene County police chiefs on December 3, 2015. The donation to the Terre Haute Police Department was made on December 15, 2015. These Stuffed Animals will be given to local children as needed to share a smile in their communities.
Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
“It was an honor to be asked to assist local law enforcement agencies by donating 300 handmade stuffed animals from the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. The stuffed animals were made by offenders in the PLUS (Purposeful Living Units Serve) Program. The program is a faith and character based unit that requires offenders to participate in community service. The facility is very supportive in helping Community Outreach initiatives. This is a great way for the offenders to give back to the community. These stuffed animals will help local law enforcement agencies bring positive awareness and smiles to the youth in the communities they serve.” — Dick Brown, Superintendent of Wabash Valley Correctional Facility
