Although my dream was to be either a journalism and speech teacher OR a sports broadcaster, things took a different path in college. After a number of college courses, I found myself drawn to the Communications spectrum. Something we all took for granted growing up (i.e. the TV commercials, product campaigns, print ads) served as inspiration to learn more. My college curriculum changed at the University of Southern Indiana.
I graduated with a double major in Public Relations and Marketing Communications. And then, completed enough course credit to double minor in advertising and human resources. I did take a number of photography courses, followed around a few photographers, and researched a number of online journals.
Although I was born and raised in Greene County, Indiana, I was not for sure if returning to my roots would be an option with these degrees. After working in Greene County in the public sector for a number of years, I decided to take a leap of faith. Purchase thousands of dollars in cameras and equipment, and then opened How Charming Photography. Since I also had self taught graphics design and web development experience, developing a logo and website came easy.
My friends served as models for a few photo sessions. Then, their children (some under one year of age) challenged the lens to ensure the perfect shot. As the portfolio grew, I knew there was no other way I wanted to spend my days than documenting the stories of those around me. Now, 15 years later, to say I love my job is an understatement. My camera is always in tow. My mind is always thinking of what can be captured next. But, what I love more is seeing your visions come to life.
So very blessed and thankful for my family for adhering to my crazy busy schedule all of these years. And, now to my wonderful husband, Kevin, who lets me bounce off ideas all hours of the day and night. So WHY so YOU Choose HOW CHARMING PHOTOGRAPHY:
I want to ensure every client that their vision comes to life by customizing each portrait session around you. Photography may seem simple, but to me the real art is getting to know subjects, establishing long-term relationship and capturing your unforgetable images of life’s wonderful moments. My hope is that your experience will create lasting memories from a photographer who puts you completely at ease.

So I can better help, here are a few questions to answer before contacting How Charming Photography.
1) Choose the type of session you wish to book.
2) Have a couple of dates in mind, as popular times book quickly. Sessions are held 7 days/week; however, locations do vary.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?
Sessions book anywhere from a couple days in advance up to four months in advance — it all depends on what type of photography is needed. April — November is peak season due to high school seniors, school and league sports, graduations, annual fall portraits, and preparations holiday cards and portraits.
BOOKING, CANCELLATION, REFUND POLICIES
Payments are due at time booking. This ensures your date will be held exclusively for you. The session fee includes a specific number of digital files and/or prints that apply to your order if placed within three (3) weeks from your session date. You have a few options to reserve your session fee:
1) Credit or debit card (through PayPal)
2) Cash or check through direct deposit into the How Charming Photography account
(either through direct Northwest Bank deposit or ZELLE through Chase)
3) Facebook Messenger “Payment Tab”
(This is for either debit card of PayPal processing)
4) Venmo to @radermedia
*Due to the studio being ”on-location” in nature, cancellations must
be made 24 hours in advance so that I can rearrange my schedule. One
cancellation per client is accepted. If a cancellation needs to be made
due to weather issues we will find a date that works best for both of us
as soon a possible.
** Please NOTE: Weekend cancellations may result in a wait of three-six weeks or longer – due to heavy weekend scheduling.
MINORS
Those under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/guardian present at the session.
POST SESSION
Your images are posted within 72 hours of your session date. (Please be advised, school and league sports, underclassmen photos, and high peak seasons (fall/holiday) etc. do equal a bit of a delay due to volume). You must select your favorite photos within seven (7) days from your session date. Information will be uploaded to your locked gallery on how to downsize, etc.
HOW DO I/WE PURCHASE PRINTS/PRODUCTS?
Information will be provided to you after your gallery is in your review.
